Job Overview:

As a Red Hat Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's Red Hat Linux systems and server environments. This role requires a deep understanding of Linux systems, preferably Red Hat, along with knowledge of network configurations, system security, virtualization, and storage.

Responsibilities:

System Administration: Configure, manage, and maintain Red Hat Linux systems and servers, ensuring high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.

System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance to ensure system availability and reliability. Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues as they arise and optimize system performance.

Security Management: Implement and maintain security controls for the Red Hat systems, including managing access controls, firewalls, and patch management to ensure the security of data and systems.

System Design & Implementation: Design and implement new system structures when required. Participate in the design and implementation of new services and systems.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures. Ensure business continuity by maintaining backup systems and data redundancy.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to system configuration, mapping, processes, service records, and disaster recovery procedures.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) are preferred.

Experience: At least 5-10 years of experience in systems engineering or IT support, preferably with a focus on Red Hat or other Linux distributions.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Red Hat systems and services, including network configurations, system security, virtualization technologies, and storage management. Familiarity with shell scripting and automation tools would be beneficial.

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and good teamwork skills. An ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Other: Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in Linux systems and technologies.
