Job Overview:

As the Director of Software Engineering, you will oversee all software development within the organization. Your role will involve strategic planning, coordinating and driving technical implementation, and ensuring alignment with company goals. You will oversee multiple teams of software engineers, provide technical leadership and insight, and manage the schedules and priorities of projects.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Lead, manage, and mentor multiple software engineering teams. Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to meet technical requirements on schedule and within budget.

Technical Oversight: Provide architectural and technical guidance. Ensure the implementation of updated and cutting-edge technology solutions.

Project Management: Manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, help develop project plans, and facilitate the agile software development process.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering budget. Control expenses and maintain financial discipline across all projects.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: At least 10 years of experience in software development and 5+ years in a leadership role. Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams.

Technical Skills: Strong technical background in software development, design, and systems architecture. Knowledge of multiple programming languages and technologies.

Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical complexities in a clear manner.

Other: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Strong understanding of project management principles.
