Job Overview:

As a Veeam Systems Engineer, you will collaborate on the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Veeam Backup & Replication environment. You will work closely with various teams across the organization to ensure data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity. You will also report and escalate support issues related to the Veeam environment.

Responsibilities:

System Design & Implementation: Collaborate on design and implement the company's Veeam Backup & Replication environment as designated by Team Lead. This includes server setup, software installation, and configuration of backup and replication jobs.

System Administration & Maintenance: Manage and maintain the Veeam environment to ensure its optimal performance. This includes performing upgrades, managing capacity, and ensuring system uptime as directed by Team Lead.

Backup & Recovery Management: Participate in the organization's backup and recovery processes. Ensure all data is backed up according to schedule and policies. Verify data recovery in case of data loss.

Disaster Recovery Planning: Contribute to the company's disaster recovery strategy. Implement disaster recovery solutions using Veeam's replication and failover capabilities as directed by Team Lead.

Troubleshooting & Support: Handle support issues related to the Veeam environment and escalate as appropriate to Team Lead and/or Veeam Support as directed by Team Lead. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Security & Compliance: Maintain and enforce security controls in the Veeam environment as directed by Team Lead. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to data protection.

Documentation & Reporting: Document all system configurations, ITIL procedures, and changes as directed by Team Lead. Prepare regular reports on system performance, backup status, and compliance as directed by Team Lead.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Certifications such as Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) are highly desirable.

Experience: At least 7 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of experience in managing Veeam environments.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Veeam Backup & Replication and its components. Familiarity with server and storage technologies, networking, virtualization (such as VMware or Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (such as AWS or Azure).

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements: Depending on the specific role and location, this may involve working in a data center environment and handling heavy equipment.

Other: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and to travel, as needed.
